What Can You Automate?

Last week, I introduced the idea of a remixed AED (Automated External Defibrillator) to restore rhythm fast.

Automate. Eliminate. Delegate.

Today I want to explore automation by asking the simple question:

What can you automate?

Not every task should be automated as compared to eliminated or delegated, but many can be.

Here are a few signs it might be time to automate a task:

It’s repetitive: You do it the same way every day, week, or month. Think scheduling, invoicing, onboarding, or reminders.

It’s rule-based: There’s a clear if-this-then-that pattern that doesn’t require creativity or discernment.

It’s prone to human error: Mistakes or delays happen when this task is done manually (like data entry or follow-up emails).

Meditation Moment

What patterns or responsibilities have I accepted as “just the way it is”?

Could automation be an invitation to reimagine how I spend my time, energy, and focus?

My Next Action

I'm going to create a list of tasks that take up my time. If a task on my list checks off two or more boxes, I'll explore tools to begin automating the task! If you're joining me on this next action, don't forget to ask your team for help if you feel stuck, or visit our website to learn more about how we can support you.

I’m thankful for your time and trust, Reader. If you found this helpful or want to learn more about how Edens View can support you, contact us by replying directly to this email.

With Anticipation,
