Insights from Edens View | The Power of Content

When Did You Last Consume Content That Actually Changed How You Operate?

I was talking to a leader in a private equity firm at a business conference.

“David, the last time I was here it was like drinking from a firehose. I’ve barely had time to reflect on last time, much less put it into practice.”

That struck me. Because he’s not alone. I hear versions of this all the time from leaders, pastors, business owners, and high achievers.

We live in a world overflowing with information—podcasts, books, courses, blog posts, YouTube videos. Content is everywhere. But here’s the hard truth:

  • Information doesn’t equal transformation.
  • More content won’t fix what clarity and direction are missing.
  • Breakthroughs rarely come from volume—they come from alignment.

And yet, I don’t want to dismiss information entirely. It does matter. But it matters most when it’s curated, timely, and paired with your real needs.

Think back to your last real breakthrough moment.

It was likely from:

  • The right information,
  • At the right time,
  • Processed in the right way.

That’s where transformation happens.

So the real question isn’t: “What should I read next?” It's What content will create the transformation I need right now?”

Meditation Moment

Think back to the last time something you learned truly changed you. How did it move from simply being information to becoming part of how you live? Sit with that difference and notice what it stirs in you today.

My Next Action

Ask “What’s the transformation I need right now?”

Choose one resource that matches that need—and commit to engaging with it fully.
