Remodel Your Rhythms

In the book No-Fail Habits, the authors write that most people think of designing their day like building a house from the ground up, starting from scratch. They suggest instead that:

The answer for designing your day is to think like a remodeler, not a builder. Begin with an existing plan rather than starting from scratch.”

That’s true for your rhythms as well. Here’s the hard truth: you already have rhythms. They might not be intentional, but they’re still there. Think about it: you most likely get up in the morning and do a similar set of things — check your phone, make coffee, shower, etc. Same thing when you get to the office — or leave the office. And one more time before you go to bed. Now, those rhythms might not be intentional. They might not be helpful. They might be not be consistent. But one thing is true — you are not starting from scratch.

So, stop thinking like a builder. And start thinking like a remodeler.

'Tis the season...

December always feels like a doorway. You’re half in the year that’s ending and half in the one that’s about to begin. There’s movement everywhere: schedules shift, routines get disrupted, and life fills with gatherings, deadlines, and emotions you didn’t ask for. It’s a natural season of transition, and with that comes pressure.

This is the perfect season to explore rhythms. Rhythms don’t demand a brand-new you or a dramatic reset. They build on what’s already there, helping you move into the new year with intention rather than intensity. December’s transitions give us a chance to notice what’s working, what’s not, and what kind of daily flow would actually support the life we want to build in the year ahead.

Stay tuned in the coming weeks for some helpful insights as we navigate this together.
